My design journey began with an Associate's degree in Visual Communications from The Art Institute of Houston, focusing on print design. Early in my career, I designed for modest companies, exploring typesetting, packaging design, and logo creation in Houston, Texas. In 2000, I relocated to Chicago, Illinois, to pursue a career in design working in ad agencies.
I departed the agency life and joined General Growth Properties, a REIT shopping center that ignited my real estate career nationally and globally. While at GGP, I honed my craft in Graphic Design, Digital Video Production, and Web Design technologies while building and mentoring a design team of digital graphic designers.
In 2015, I joined JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) as Creative Director, leading a design team for the Chicago and Midwest markets. My time at JLL was marked by significant improvements in efficiency and the implementation of new processes, all while aligning the creative team with all business lines at the market level. In my current role, I lead a modest team of digital designers for a global exchange in Chicago, Illinois.
As a designer I feel it is paramount to stay current with design trends and constant learning in the industry. My education journey in design is ongoing. I am currently enrolled at Southern New Hampshire, pursuing a BA in Design. This academic pursuit is a testament to my commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and techniques in the field. I love connecting with design talent and exploring what the design market brings.
